I’ve attended some FOBIA meetings in the beginning and remember someone fom the Belle Isle Aquarium answering questions and leaking dirty information about the Detroit Zoo and Kagan…not pretty but interesting. It was clear that some despise Kagan and have no respect for him as a leader or a person. This is all fine but I truly hate it when all the accusations are coming from one side without anyone present for the defense...play fair. Recently, someone told me that Detroit City Council eliminated zoo positions, which according to the paper is where these aquarium workers were suppose to transfer to. There are only a few days left before the aquarium is suppose to close and I’ve been waiting for the workers at the aquarium to speak out and state their viewpoint because at this point there is nothing to lose anymore and everything to gain. I think the public would be very interested in what the workers have to say about the closing of the aquarium. The time is now for the people at the aquarium to stop hiding behind FOBIA and state everything they have been saying in these FOBIA meetings accept this time, say it to Kagan’s face so we can hear his rebuttal. Here is a fundraising idea. Schedule a showdown between the Belle Isle Aquarium Curator vs. Detroit Zoo Director Ron Kagan and sell tickets! This way information doesn’t have to be fed to FOBIA, the public can hear it for themselves and then decide. If everything I’ve heard is true, supporters for the aquarium will come running to its defense.

How is it our brothers have no problem flushing tens of millions of dollars down the drain for our precious A-A History Museum?

There's no way that public facility is self sustaining. The cost of the aquarium is a mere pitance as compared to the museum. Kwamby has his shortsighted mind made up to dump that "dilapidated" museum. What an insult to our nature loving community.

Just what is the comparison in the ratio of citizens visiting the museum versus the aquarium?

Finally, what would this young self righteous mayor do about the "dilapidated" structures in Athens, Egypt, Rome, etc? Let's tear down a part of our city's history and turn it into a McDonalds!?
