Detroit City Council Resolution

WHEREAS The Belle Isle Aquarium has been slated to close
by the City’s administration, and

WHEREAS The Friends of the Belle Isle Aquarium has
has launched an impressive campaign to halt
the closure, and

WHEREAS The Friends of the Belle Isle Aquarium
have committed to work with the city of
Detroit to identify alternate resources and
the establishment of an endowment, Now
Therefore Be It

RESOLVED That the City Administration be advised
that the Detroit City Council desires the
Belle Isle Aquarium to remain open until
July 1, 2005 to help give adequate time to
raise funds, and to compile a strategy that
may ensure the continued operation of
the Belle Isle Aquarium.
