Detroit Council Meeting, 02/21/05

Overview: Interim President of FOBIA, Kate Alan laid out compelling reasons for preserving the Belle Isle Aquarium, after which the Council overwhelmingly voiced their fervent desire that some solution should be found to keep the Aquarium open.
Zoo Director Dr. Ron Kagan and Ruth Glancy of the Detroit Zoological Society pledged to work with the Council and FOBIA to find the necessary funds to keep the Aquarium solvent.

This fundamentally shifts the emphasis of FOBIA, from seeking a stay against the closure of the Aquarium to urgently finding sources of funds to keep the Aquarium open.
